@jessemeyers: Well, it's expensive, and that was/is a legal case. It's abnormal and not the best practice. At the same time, especially in capitalism, most activities are for profit. Healthcare is the most capital/cost intensive sector. Medical personnel is expensive, infrastructure is expensive etc. The only other option is socialism and regulated/subsidized healthcare, education and training, which also has many, many cons.
