Retro Tech: 6 Classic Mountain Bikes - Crankworx Whistler 2018
@multialxndr: but wasn't that mainly because riding had changed and the bikes hadn't caught up yet? All of our bikes back then were XC bikes with inappropriate forks on them and tough wheels and tyres.

I had an original poo brown SX Trail and it was a great little bike - I was still using up until 2013. It climbed like a pig because the seat angle was too slack but it was so much fun descending. I still miss that bike because it was just so much fun.

Spotted: Manitou's Prototype Enduro Fork and Sun Ringle's Carbon Wheels - Crankworx Whistler 2018
Totally agree. Would be a massive shame to ditch the current adjustments which were one of the biggest selling points for me especially at that price point. My Mattoc is a great little fork and a huge improvement over the Yari it replaced.

Review: Marzocchi Bomber Z1 Fork
@Mac1987: Exactly. Brilliant little forks at a good price plus the recent updates are backwards compatible.

Review: Hayes' New Dominion A4 Brake
I was a big fan of Hayes brakes in the early 2000’s. All my mates took the piss, but my Mags and HFX 9’s were super powerful. They stood up to the Alps better than the Hope Mono brakes they were running. The Stoker brakes were pretty crappy aside from the Aces which seemed to be their downfall. They mostly just vanished after that.

Review: Hayes' New Dominion A4 Brake
Was a big fan of mt Aces. Not sure that the XT’s I replaced them with were an upgrade really.

Unearthing Seasons: A 10 Year Retrospective
The Collective films captured such a rad vibe and are still great to watch. Roam is my favourite of the three. They were such a breath of fresh air after the NWD films.

Bike Checks: 3 Slopestyle Bikes From Crankworx Innsbruck 2018
@makripper: ha ha. They were absolute turds. ‘97 Judy XC’s were my first forks. They were like a nerf gun on the front of your bike because if you landed a jump or a drop heavily enough, the spring and elastomer would shoot out of the top! The top caps were bloody plastic. I had some RST Mozo Pro 4.5’s too. They were the days.

Bike Checks: 3 Slopestyle Bikes From Crankworx Innsbruck 2018
@makripper: the ‘97 Judy looked ace but was utter piss to actually ride. Horrible things. The Z1’s I replaced them with were from another planet.
