Video: In-Depth Analysis of Flat Pedal Efficiency with the Strength Factory
I agree. I rode SPD’s many many moons ago before swapping to flats. I’ve dabbled in clips from time to time but can’t get in with them. I think you loose a lot of feedback like in corners when you drop the outside foot. In those situations the float feels unnatural to me.

Field Trip: Vitus' $2,000 Mythique 29 VRX - The Value Trail Bike Defined
I agree. I bought one as a winter bike an for riding with my little boy. It’s not cool or sexy, but it’s a cracking spec, seems well made and rides pretty well. Stuff like decent tyres and a god fork swung it for me. Too many of the other bikes I was looking at had really bad tyres or super basic RS forks, no dropper etc.

They’re good little forks. Have them on my Vitus hardtail and it was them that swung if in that bikes favour over the basic RS forks on other bikes.

It’s it that bad. I have a Sentier VR hardtail for winter riding, family rides etc and that has SX on it and it seems fine to me. The worst bit is / was the shifter which I swapped for a GX one which just feels a bit better. It’s easier enough to set up and hasn’t exploded yet. The cassette is a boat anchor but it’ll do until it wears out. It’s perfectly function but doesn’t feel as nice as the GX / XO1 11 speed combo on my other bike.

Transition Scout Frame (large) Fox DHX RC4 shock

$600 GBP
For sale is my Transition Scout frame in large. The frame was fitted with an Invisiframe kit from new so is in great condition with just a few marks / chips in the paint as per the photos. I upgraded the Monarch rear shock to a Fox DHX RC4 which has a Ti spring fitted. The frame will be supplied with a Hope seat clamp and a SRAM GXP bottom bracket. 125mm rear travel and works fab with 150mm forks. 31.6mm seat post, threaded BB, ISCG 05 tabs, 142mm rear ended (axle supplied) tapered headtube with internal cable routing. Great fun little bike that I’ll be sad to see go but I’m in the process of shrinking the bike collection. It is only the frame that is for sale - I’ve just not got round to dismantling it yet.

Review: Shimano XT Flat Pedals
@JustinVP: agreed. The Spikes were some of the worst pedals that I had the misfortune of using; kept seiafter a wet ride. The previous Saint pedals were far reliable, hopefully these will be better.

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Rather Have an Air or Coil Sprung Shock on Your Trail Bike?
I’m in the coil camp; my Scout feels way nicer with a coil than an air shock. Coil forks are next on the list.
