First Look: The 2025 Lapierre Spicy Can Be High-Pivot Or Low-Pivot
Once I was an advocate for no adjustability at all. I had a VPCFree that had tons of adjustments I’ve never learned how to use this adjustments properly and the bike always felt like shite. At some point in my life I started learning how to use different adjustments (rebound, compression, spring rate, etc) and I felt the difference the setup makes. Eventually I learned how to change a few geometry parameters using offset bushings, different shock strokes, anglesets and etc. Nowadays I want all the adjustments I can get. I try different stuff and see what suits me better. Once it is dialed, it is dialed for life (not literally, but changes do not occur that often anymore. With that being said I really like bikes that offer me the opportunity to tune in my specs and find what I prefer. While I wouldn’t consider a Lapierre this kind of adjustment freedom really should be implemented by every brand

First Ride: The Trek Top Fuel Gets Lightly Revised for 2025
No Shimano/Fox config is a bummer. This bike would be highly ranked in my consideration list if it had the config.

First Look: KOM Xeno Infinity Drive Hubs Push from the Disc Side
As much as I like innovation and seeing people thinking outside the box, proprietary stuff always comes with its downsides. Props for coming with something new and new ideas. Just on a side note I myself do not suffer with hub reliabilty problems. I’ve switched to Hope a long time ago (since pro 2s) and never looked back. Never had problems with those (the pro 2 is still going strong on the 26er).

XC Tech Randoms: Val Di Sole World Cup 2024
Being an average Joe rider having crappy mechanics in my region and being a natural tinkerer I’ve bought all the tools (even the nitrogen kit) and acquired the knowledge needed to perform rebuilds in my own suspension. I can tell you that if I had the time I would do monthly rebuilds (I ride 2x/week). The difference is pretty noticeable. To avoid mistakes just have all the proprietary tools, torqmeters and such (yes, it comes at a cost , but it is cheaper than paying a mechanic when you think long term) and mainly take your time and do it calmly. It usually takes me about 3 to 4 hours for a complete rebuild. Again, taking my time and thinking about every single step. Even when it is as simple as unscrewing a bolt.
