I've tried to buy some Lakes in the past and that was a seriously unpleasant experience. Its really hard to find them in stock anywhere and the use so many different last across their different shoes. Borderline impossible to figure out what size you are without trying them on.

@jesse-effing-edwards: thats my approach and its worked great. Clothes need to be breathable for mountain biking so its better to just wear something that remains warm while wet.

With you here. As a tall guy I've never felt like a bike was 100% designed for me. In general bigger wheels have proven their benefit and folks shorter in stature have all hit their limit, whether its toe overlap or tire buzz or lack of strength to lean the bigger wheel over. I haven't hit any of those limits so why shouldn't I be interested in pushing it further.
Maybe 32" bikes will suck ass, but Im certainly intrigued.
