The Argument For Short Travel Bikes - Opinion
Totally agree, unless your hometown terrain is just crazy, I am of the opinion that riders should start hardtail, move to short travel full suspension, and finally to DH rig if they really feel it's necessary. Makes the most economic sense and will progress rider skills much better.

Transition Bandit 26 Inch Review
For the riding I do, in the area I ride in, this bike would be perfect. Still get me up the climbs without passing out, fast, nimble and fun through tight twisty single track, and burly enough to get me I would get rid of the CB wheelset (seems like they may have put it on for looks rather than performance). I disagree on what is deemed 'affordable' but that is a whole different topic. Overall nice to see a light weight all mountain rig with 26" wheels. I'm impressed transition.

Video: Hardtail still rocks
Totally agree, plus you can build up a pretty sweet HT on a lower budget and it requires less maintenance after wet or bad weather rides.

Damn, Watts must have had a nice line on his Haro to put up best qualifier score on first run.

Rocky Moutain Trailhead Hardtail

$65 USD
Rocky Mountain Trailhead Frame. Size medium (17.5"), 68 mm english threads, 1 1/8" headtube This is a great aluminum hardtail XC frame. It would make a great single speed project or fast and light XC rig, even a good commuter project. I rode this on many local trails and it does show signs of wear but still a great frame from a reputable company. I am sad to see it go but better someone use it than it collect dust in my basement. Takes a 100 mm fork. Includes seatpost, clamp, and front derailleur. Buyer pays shipping. I am open to trades. Thanks for looking.
