And there's the answer as why it changed. ... Urbanization. Oh well we can't stop progress.
It's a pity though, as the old track was amazing. Well it will be very interesting to see what they come up with.
I think logistics will be interesting too, as if they have the pits where they used to the mechanics will have to take 2 lifts (or drive to the main lift), to get their warm up stuff up the hill. And then I'm not sure how they would get it back down again as you have to ride between the lifts. Unless they have separate dh and xco pits?
We will have to wait and see.

My initial comment aside
To the organizer and track builder if you read this ...
As the guy who built the PMB DH track for 2011-2014 World Cup and World Champs, I know what its like to be hammered by us keyboard DH racers. I must attest that till are there and you actually race it, pics don't do justice. ...
But, having raced Andorra Worlds in 2015 and sessioned the top of that hill for a week before hand ... The tops mellow gradient wise, compared to the lower slopes of the old track where I basically pooed my pants. Nothing compares to those lower slopes... I hope the new track works out and is sick. But I will miss the wild steeps of the old track.
Looking forward to what you put up for us.
