Pinkbike Poll: What Are Your Must-Have Features On a New Mountain Bike?
When I was racing as a junior, my parents thankfully scraped together the money for a top of the line Specialized S-Works M4 HT. Cost for this in 1998 was (converting my countries then currency to €) 2790 Euros. Calculating using historical inflation data, this is 4973 Euros in 2023. Now there are two interesting views on that: A top of the line S-Works Epic HT in 2023 costs 11900 Euros on Specialized's website. This is more than twice the money for the top of the line HT in the range which is quite frankly outrageous. However, at the same time, the Epic Expert HT is sitting at 5700€, so roughly in line with the inflation adjusted cost from year 1998 of 4973€. And every single parts is miles better (Carbon wheels, disc brakes, etc.) So on the one hand, the top-of-the line prices have gotten out of hand, but comparing similar priced options, you get better performance for the same money 25 years later.

@TheR: Good point. People are so cynical and bitter on Pinkbike it's beyond comprehension. I don't get it. MTB is a fun and kick ass hobby, why this constant whining. Not getting it. Prime example: One hell of a Worldcup season, and rather than appreciating that, people are pissed of because of one or the other commentator being shit. Given all the real shit that's going on in the world nowadays, if that's bothering you, I guess you should rather count yourself lucky. By the way, I'm only here for the comments...

Qualifying Analysis from the Mont-Sainte-Anne DH World Cup 2023
Because if the UCI would do this, you'd be complaining that: "The font is too small, the font is too big, the lines in the diagram are not straight enough, Red Bull would do better lines, the colors are no right F*** the UCI" And because the UCI is a sanctioning body, not content provider. This is what media is here for.
