Field Test Review: 2022 Trek Top Fuel - Same Name, Different Bike
When is Trek just going to bail on the Knock Block that everyone simply HATES? First thing I did on my last 3 Treks was belt sand off the top of that chip that mounts on the top tube and the two little steps on the top spacer so I could run a different stem (belt sanding was a little cleaner than Henry's hacksaw approach.) Dump the KB!

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 93 - Staying Motivated and Overcoming Burnout
Strava almost ruined mountain biking for me because I found that when I was using it I would feel like I HAD to ride, not that I wanted to ride, and it was turning my favorite thing to do for the last 25+ years of my life into something more like a job. It would get to be the last couple of months of the year, and I would see that I would need "X" amount of miles to hit some mileage milestone for the year, and I would start forcing myself to get out for rides. Not only was this an issue because I was finding myself riding in pretty bad weather conditions and potentially putting myself in harm's way, but it also caused tension in my home because responsibilities started to fall more on my wife because I'd "just have to get at least 5 miles in" instead of, say, driving my kid to their sports practices. At the end of 2020 I did a ride on Strava and titled it "adios Strava" and deleted the app. I've enjoyed riding so much more ever since.
And now that I've put this down in writing, I think I may have been the first Strava addict. GO COLD TURKEY, FRIENDS! Dump your Strava before it gets you too! :)

Vermont's 5 Most Popular Trail Networks According to Trailforks Data
Totally agree about Killington and KT. Used to make an annual weekend trip to KT, and after the last one in 2019, I was pretty much all set due to the large crowds (pre-covid, of course) and some of the trails just being really rutted up. Then they lost all that land and it made the decision to check out some other parts of VT easy.
Was up in the Killington area a couple weeks ago and rode GMT on Friday, Killington Saturday and Ascutney on the way home Sunday. All were great!

Vermont's 5 Most Popular Trail Networks According to Trailforks Data
KT has definitely lost some of its luster since they lost that large swath of land right in the middle of the Darling Hill trails because some douche nozzle had to be a jerkoff to one of the landowners. Thanks asshat!

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 81 - You've Got Questions, We've (Maybe) Got Answers
I totally agree with Henry on the Vittoria Mazza. One of the best tires I have ever used - super grippy on the granite out here in the northeast. HOWEVER, I have had 3 of the Trail versions fail on me in the last 3 months. All three tore at the base of a knob right through the casing causing me to flat instantly - two rear and one front. None of them were super worn, so it was a bit surprising. The first set of these that I bought were very durable, so I'm not sure why this has been happening recently? Is there a graphene shortage due to covid? Kidding of course, but seriously - is there a materials issue?
