Jun 13, 2026Specialized Stumpjumper Evo Alloy S4 w/ long chainstay
$2700 USDCustom frame-up build from 2023, my main ride until last fall. With upgrades it's a proper min/max enduro coil build at 170/160(ish) with CC link and WRP mullet yoke. Love this thing, but it overlaps too much with my current bike, and I'm moving so need some extra cash.
$2700 OBO, willing to negotiate. Frame + parts was well over $5500 in total.
Fresh service on dampers, fresh bleed on brakes, only 3 rides since. Comes with red 700# coil, might need a lighter one if you are less than ~200lbs with gear. Front tire lightly used, rear tire brand new. One of the cable grommet hole threads got cross threaded and the tiny bolt is toast, but it's easily fixed with a tap.
Frame: 2022 Stumpy Evo S4 w/ upgrades:
- S5-S6 Seatstay (+10mm CS length)
- Cascade LT Link (+8mm travel, +7% LR progression -> 26%)
- WRP Mullet Yoke (+ a few mm travel)
- Specialized downtube protector (made for carbon model, fits great)
Shock: Rockshox Vivid Coil Ultimate C1 + 700lb coil
Fork: Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate C3 w/ 170mm air spring upgrade + OG Rockshox USA deadstock stickers
Wheels: Hunt Enduro Wide V2 MX, brand new rear rim+axle (replaced under warranty, freshly rebuilt)
Drivetrain: Shimano mix (XT shifter, SLX 165mm cranks, Deore mech, SLX cassette + chain)
Chainring: Burgtec Direct Mount 30t Silver
Brakes/Rotors: SRAM Code Ultimate Stealth, Centerline 200mm rotors f+r
Dropper: OneUp V2 210mm + V3 remote
Front tire: Continental Kryptotal Fr Soft 2.4", Enduro casing, ~80% life left
Rear tire: Specialized Eliminator T7 2.3", Grid Trail casing, brand new
Bash guard/chainguide: absoluteBLACK Titanium oval bash guide
Bars: Raceface Next R Carbon, 20mm rise, 800mm wide
Stem: ENVE Alloy 50mm
Grips: Pivot lock-on Orange
Headset cap: Wolf Tooth Bling Kit Red
Pedals: Hope F20 Purple (if you want them)
Will include stock S4 seatstay, link/yoke, 160mm air spring for fork. Also have the old Float X shock if you want it for a bit extra $.
Will ship within country for the right price (buyer pays shipping + packing by local shop)

BLM Opens 200 Miles of Trails in Moab to Class 1 E-Bikes
ok, fine. in my perfect purist mountain biker world where no good people got shafted by not allowing ebikes on these trails, I'd choose not to allow them. but this feels inevitable. there are probably some trails that will eventually allow ebikes, and ones that already have, that probably shouldn't allow them, due to whatever nuanced reasons are specific to the terrain, surrounding community, trail users, or whatever. but for the most part this and other future good-faith decisions to allow them will probably have a net benefit on the sport.
if there's any way for us regular non-E mountain bike enthusiasts will be able to preserve the sanctity of the sport we love into the future, I just don't think it will be accomplished by blocking ebikes from using the trails where it makes sense to do so. we need to keep driving the conversation in the right direction, and continue being the responsible trail users that we know we can be.

Help Protect Colorado’s Lefthand OHV Area & Enter to Win a Banshee
it's not just one issue. the short of it seems to be that the motorized community wants access again, since they were the ones who originally got a plan approved by the FS in 2006 which was never implemented. there's a lot more nuance to it, with parking issues, emergency access, and private landowners all factoring in. I've learned this purely from reading the info on the Friends of Lefthand website and signing up for their email list. if you care about the area I'd recommend doing the same.
