Legion's Clever High-Flow Tubeless Valves - Taipei Cycle Show 2024
Does anyone know why the switch from shrader to presta ever happened? Presta just added a major weak spot to my bike as I've bent or broken off a few - sideway-force for mounting and pumping and a fragile valve top are a shitty combo. At the same time, a shrader pump is much more likely to find anywhere on the planet compared to presta. Why did anyone decide that the more fragile and less available standard is right for mountainbikes?

Might be 100% true for retired DH racers. Fun is certainly my main focus and a capable enduro bike does it all. I'll go for the e-bike once my body degraded enough to not feel the difference going downhill - 30 years on the mountainbike but still hope to get at least another 10 years before the switch.

Super G Results: Snow Bike World Championships 2024
The glory days with 4X and DH on the same weekend and live coverage on Freecaster/Red Bull TV. Mountainbiking has grown massively over the past years and it's just sad that new and old fans can't enjoy the exciting coverage we once had. Sure riding on the hills is still the same but for me closely following the sport added another lever of being truly involved and some extra motivation for training and pushing the limits.

Pinkbike Poll: What Are Your Must-Have Features On a New Mountain Bike?
Shit to see that going back to 27.5" hasn't taken off yet. Surely both sizes have their place but for fun-oriented bikes and S/M sizes, there should at least be an option to choose between. I presume that cost is the main factor for sticking with 29" as bike geometry needs to be designed individually for both sizes size and carbon molds are expensive..

9 Thoughts on Red Bull Rampage 2023
Would make absolute sense to publish the final scores once 1st round is done for proper calibration. Or ditch event scoring completely and just make it a jam format with individual awards. This would give the best and craziest big mountain riders a nice stage to showcase their style and skills while taking off some pressured risk to score high with the judges.

I'm quite twisted about this event. The risk factor is just too high on some features and it would be devastating to see one of my favorite riders die on the hill - still I return every year to watch the replay and love the show. Judging has been questionable in so many cases over the years so I hope every rider has a clear vision/goal to get his value out of the event absolutely regardless of final ranking by the judges.

Review: Some Pleasant Apparel Surprises From YT & Enve
Bought a pair of Fox knockoffs at ~30$ recently from aliexpress. Not delivered yet but very interested to see the fit & quality. All pants in local shops are >180.- which is way above my current budget - don't need them often just went for trainers/jeans so far. YT pants look great and reasonably priced though.
