Some of the parts have a few scuffs, but everything working very well. This bike is ready to roll.

Buying a Bike From a Shop Versus Buying Online
Price being similar, I'd always prefer to buy from a shop. However, the trouble is that it's nearly impossible to find a local shop that stocks some of the more exotic or boutique brand frames or parts.

Throwback Thursday: Opinion - The Argument For Short-Travel Bikes
Similar argument with cars. 30 years ago few people could keep a 300hp car on the road. Now, electronic nannies allow grocery getters to safely tame 500hp. I say let the market decide. Yes, shorter travel bikes, like cars w less nannies, are more engaging to drive. Yet, is you make a mistake your less likely to wind up seriously injured with the latest tech. Let people ride what they want.
