Ok, so next years teams are dependent on the points that the riders bring based on their previous year? What about a Junior graduating to Elite? Does this mean the teams are forced to risk losing the following years status by gambling an up and comer? Seems like a bunch of pressure on the Juniors to show up and support the life/death of a team. Did I miss something?

Brage Vestavik Underwent Back Surgery After Disc Prolapse
By how I read it, he already had the disc herniation progress to a concerning state (doubled in size) and had to have a spinal fusion. That disc is gone now, most likely replaced with a structural implant.
