I'm a big fan of howies stuff, sounds like you got a dodgy pair, i've never had anything of theirs fail on me before. Give them a call and I'm sure they would sort you out a replacement. Also worth mentioning that Epic cotton is a waterproof cotton, not just a marketing term for their own weave of cotton or something.

Martyn Ashton, Martin Hawyes, Ed tongue, chris akrigg, danny holyroyd all rode trials before MacAskill made his recent videos. They're the ones who got coverage in MBUK magazine and made trials a big name in the uk, MacAskill is just the latest (and admittedly most talented so far). He has certainly gotten the most attention for bike trials but he was never the originator of the sport. heres a chris akrigg video to show that danny isnt the only trials rider making good vids.
