@juanny: Hey Juanny, almost all marshals were ski/bike patrollers. All the first aid attendants were members of Golden and District Search and Rescue as well as ski and bike patrollers at Kicking Horse Mountain carrying full trama packs, vacuum mats and harness. A CDFL equipped helicopter and pilot were on standby in town about 1min away. Every racer was being tracked via radio check in. If a serious crash had occurred the rider would have been packaged and transported via helicopter directly to the hospital faster then a response from most bike parks. As the one overseeing the first aid for everyone on the mountain we took things very seriously. Although I have to admit, it was still stressful!
