Aaron Gwin Comments on Injured Ankle, Broken Cranks, & More
@covekid: But why keep buying carbon cranks if they kept breaking?... Or did you also have this problem with alloy? The weight savings are pretty insignificant and they're at the last place on the entire bike you need to shave grams.

First Ride: Trek's 2020 Top Fuel Gets a Little More Travel & a Lot More Aggressive
@ellisbrandt: Knock Block is present throughout the Trek lineup, not just XC rigs. This bike is also a trail bike, not a thoroughbred XC racer. And it's not just about throwing bars. Very tight switchbacks that might require an endo, crashes, storage, transport, whatever. Plenty of reasons to want your bars to spin 'round. Considerable weight savings? I think Trek and Canyon frames would be considerably lighter if that were true, but it's not.

Knock Block is an engineering failure, plain and simple. Trek and Canyon are the only companies that need them, and yet every other company does fine without them. Sure, you probably won't notice it much while riding, but it makes storage shitty, adds proprietary parts, limits tricks if you're a sender, etc. I really wish they'd just get rid of it and make a normal headtube/downtube.

Sick Bicycles' Manufacturer Selling Off Frames Claiming Lack of Payment
@southoftheborder: @southoftheborder: I'm surprised there aren't more comments about these available frames, ripe for the plucking! Sick already had pretty low prices (... provided you actually got the bike), so presumably there's going to be a discount on top of that because manufacturers are used to selling below MSRP (obviously). Think about it: cheap frame, steel, made by a reputable manufacturer, plus you get an infamous, soon-to-be-bankrupt company's bike to show off! If I were in the market for a fucked up hardtail (super long/low/slack hardtail) I think I'd probably order one form Marino.

Fox Announces Full Details of Dropframe Trail Helmet
I've wanted a helmet with fuller coverage like this one, but this is so similar to the Proframe that I don't see the point of not running the PF. You don't notice the chinguard on the PF because of the ventilation, so omitting it isn't going to do much beyond not protect your teeth, and make it easier to eat/drink.

Video: Nukeproof Releases Raw Worx Edition of Mega 290
Commencal tends to offer raw alloy models on their entire lineup. Also, raw models are less common because the frame can't have imperfections that would otherwise be covered by paint.
