@islandforlife: I’m feeling like playing with a hornet’s nest here, trying to explain the benefits of cable tourism on pinkbike. I can only share my personal experience here and want to be as transparent as possible. When we started to test headset cable routing I hated it, there were many downsides with limited benefits. We saw room for improvement and started to work on it in a colab between Propain and Sixpack. The system we developed solved the sealing problem most ICR solutions have and routes the cables without excessive bending, its very quiet and cleans up the cockpit. After working with the system for so long and knowing it in and out I really started to like it and on all the prototypes I’m testing now, which allow both options already, I opt for ICR. There are still downsides, however. You are stuck with limited options if you need headset replacement (we do use the highest quality bearings from Acros to avoid any problems (I know that might not be enough for some riders) and obviously there’s additional efforts needed in case you work on the system. Its really your personal preference and I don’t want to advocate for either side here. For PROPAIN there is zero benefit selling either system. There is no financial benefit in not drilling holes in our frames. Its on the CNC machine anyways and just takes 5 seconds longer. I also want to share some experience our customers have. On Tyee Alloy we already offer both systems already and about 40% of customers chose ICR. There is a large group that prefer it and the comment section here also shows that some riders seem to be happy with it. From most riders that have our ICR system we get positive feedback. From team riders we get mixed feelings. Some are happy with it some are not. Mainly due to limited headset options. Phil Atwill for example says he prefers a stiffer headset. Probably none of us mortals would ever feel this, but we want our bikes to be able to perform at the highest level and hence we open up options in the future. OK, OK.... time for a official statement from PROPAIN about "cable tourism". Yes, we think our way of routing cables through the headset is a great solution for many riders and it really works well BUT we totally understand that its not for everyone. After the launch of Tyee6 we decided its time to take a step back and open up some holes in the downtube again for all our new bike projects. Headset cable routing will be only optional on any development projects that started after Tyee6 launch last year. Thanks for everyone's feedback on "cable tourism". I admint it was tough at times to read through it. To push a new technolgy without leaving the option for traditional cable routing wasn't the best decision after all. Its a great system but if its not your cup of tea we certainly want to respect that. New bikes will therefore feature a new option in our configurator - through headset or traditional internal cable routing! Hi all, PROPAIN here. Yes, despite being super critical at first about headset cable routing we do believe in an added value. It actually adds a few $ in purchase so cost is not the reason. Looks, noise and a stronger frame are the reasons. The second is hard to believe unless you tried it. Its such a difference when the little rattle from the cables is gone. I think we also got rid of most of the downsides of such a system by making it watertight, added stainless steel bearings, you can swap stem length without opening the cables and you can add spacers without problems. The only issues you would run into would be when you try to swap the upper headset bearing, hence stainless steel high quality bearings that last a long time. I really had to force myself to be open minded to even try this system at first but now I am big fan, but still fully understand the cristicism. Cheers

The pedal body is just 1,75mm convex (less than One-up etc..) The pin setup itslef is indeed concave.

The pedal is 59€ for a locally produced product from recycled plastics thats not been shipped half way around the globe. Only the carbon version with stainless steel bearings and pins is 89€.

You got me for a moment. But Great Britain is in there.... Propain is trying not to exclude anybody... All shocks are protected by a mud guard and get the same amount of dirt and mud as on any other bikes! Propain runs this design since almost 10 years with good experiences! What should be kept in mind is that as soon as the suspension compresses the shock moves further behind the mud guard which then blocks close to everything flying towards the shock. From PROPAIN: 3 position headset adjustment and 20mm in total that is. And yeah we currently do NOT ship to the US because of insurance issues. We are working on it but it will not happen this year I think. Cheers for the great feedback on our bikes. I m off to Leogang now...
