The YT crew at Crankworx: Crankworx Whistler was a wild one: Ethan Nell, our latest addition to the YT Family, showed some massive tricks although he got hurt while filming. Oscar Taiola, a mountain guide and icon of the former cable car and now safety manager for the new Skyway shares his passion for the high mountains while recounting the history of there former lift through to its current state of the art incarnation. Times and the technology might have changed, but as skiers Tony Lamiche, Alex Pittin, Kaj Zackrisson and Josh Daiek discover, the mountains haven't.
Iran: A Skier's Journey: “Should we go?” Chad Sayers and Forrest Coots decide, indeed, they should. Upon arriving in Iran, they are welcomed with profound warmth, stunned by the immense beauty of the landscape and culture. Threaded through Tehran’s bustling bazaars to Isfahan’s dazzling mosques, the two skiers get a glimpse at the complex dichotomy that divides public and private lives in Iran. As journalist Elaine Sciolino writes, “Iran can be dazzling, and light-filled, a reflection of its complexities; but it can also be cold, confusing, and impenetrable.” To travel to Iran is a reminder of the virtues of travel itself. Nothing is as it first appears. At private ski chalets atop slopes of the Alborz and Zagros mountains, rules and customs relent.
Crazy, but the Iran ski video hit me the most today. Further proof that when you strip away the bullshit religious and political garbage, many people are the same. Those women on that lift look truly happy skiing. Old and young hanging out in the hot springs/baths, apre drinks despite what some old crusty Iman says is 'legal'. Cheers to all the like minded people around the world who enjoy their pastime despite what some government/religious hack says they should do. Those wide open runs look awesome btw
CONGRATS to Lucy and Lisa for their new web serie "Poudre d'Escampette". It's good to see girls riding in awesome spots ! Thanks to her and stay tuned on our Crosscall Fan Page !
