Vancouver Island - Deep Woods - Gavin Mclean

Got a chance to shoot an edit with Gavin Mclean, a Vancouver Island shredder on his local trails. Guy rips, such a hard worker, and a treat to shoot with! Enjoy this dark deep woods VI edit.

I'm going to the island this month to stay with my brother a few days. I've never ridden there before. Is this trail area somewhere anybody can go or a local secret? Great video! I am so stoked to ride on the island now!

There are literally trails everywhere. Some are local secrets but there are so many awesome trail systems for the public too.

Camera movement is on point !

Music and filming (specially when camera moving other direction than rider) gives it an enchanted mystical atmosphere.

The riding is awesome as well as the camera angles. However, the whole higher FPS gives it such a fake day time television "feel" which immediately takes me out of the scene and into "Hey, this looks seriously fake/digitized"

Hmm..maybe next year...riding looks amazing on the island. I'd love to ride with some locals.
Anyone know if riding up at Hornby Island is worth the drive/ferries?

depends on what level rider you are. Your not going to find a bunch of extreme stuff but if your in the area it is well worth riding. My family and I frequent the area and we always take at least my bike. Last time I rode there we found some real nice flow trails. you do need to climb up to get to them. at least the climb up isn't crazy long.
