I'm going out on a limb, I think the DH will be won by someone on a 29er.....

Gwin came 3rd on a 160mm 26" So I don't think that idea's as ridiculous as first thought!

dont know if it will be a 29er but ill be shocked if its won on 26 inch wheels, something like a 150mm 650b would be in my books to take the win, i can already see alot of people trying them through practice though!!

Who cares what size the wheels are that the winner is riding. As long as it's a mountain bike, if it's not, well then......

its not even like a traditional downhill race..

traditional? Its not even a downhill track, the only reason it is is because its on a hill. Not even a mountain, a hill. DH races should never be won on a bike with less than 7 inches. Its a sad day when people think this is dh and its going to be won on a small bike with play school sized wheels.

"A DH race should never be won by anything with less than seven inches"

So no one won a DH race back in the elastomer days?

Also, Sea Otter may not fit our ideal of DH but it does fit the criteria. It is both on a hill and pointed down it. Plus, it is pretty fun to watch people flying over all those jumps!

Sea Otter is one of the best events to attend. Everybody is there, they service your worn out parts for ridiculously cheap prices and DUAL SLALOM is the highlight of the entire event.
