Throwback Thursday: The Classic MTB Film ‘Ride to the Hills’ Turns 25
Would have been so much cooler if they’d all been using the new Avinox M2 and M2S motors. 1500W of power for 30 second bursts would have elevated their rad shredding to the next level.

$2900 CADI’m moving out west and am switching to something with more travel. I’ve upgraded the suspension, with a longer travel shock and fork to make it 145/150, vs 130/140 stock. Whether riding Guelph Lake, Arkell or the Hydrocut, or going on trips to Horseshoe or Quebec, this bike rips, and can handle anything you can throw at.
Build list:
Marzochi Z1 150mm fork
Marzochi Bomber CR coil shock (rebuilt this summer)
Shimano XT Brakes, metallic pads, icetech rotors 180/203) and an NSB caliper spacer
Giant TRA rear wheel/hub
New Terravail Kessel and Warwick tires
Raceface stem
Muc-off tubeless valves, AirTag mount and AirTag, and fresh sealant
New chain/chainring
While the frame has the usual cosmetic dings, the bike and components are in fantastic shape. The bike has about 800km total, but I did the brakes and rear wheel this summer, so only a handful of rides on them. Just got a fresh tune, so it’s all ready to ride for the spring. Will fit riders between 5’11” and 6’3”.

The Yukon: Land of the Midnight Fun
Bears are pretty chill, as long as you don’t fuck with their cubs. It’s the moose that people should be afraid of. Bears need a reason, Moose will wreck you just because they feel like it.

$4000 CADBreaks my heart, but I've gotta let this rig go. Don't have the time/space to properly finish it. It's got 437000km on the clock. Its got the unkillable 2.7L 3RZ-FE, a 5spd manual gearbox, manual shift 4x4, and a locking differential on the back axle. Doesn't use any oil or coolant, and always starts on the first crank. Now due to the age, and all the little things that need fixing, it is a project. The biggest concern is the rust. While most of the frame is good, there's one spot by the rear trailing arm that is getting crusty. Most of the body is clean, but the front of the rear quarter panels is rusting on both sides. I've replaced the ball joints, but the rest of the suspension (front and back) could use a refresh. Windshield and tailgate latch need replacing, and the exhaust is starting to get perforated from rust. But, it starts, stops, shifts and drives. All the electronics work fine. Car has BC registration, but is currently located in Ontario. I'm asking $4k CAD, but am open to offers. Will trade for pew pews. I'll update with more pictures on wednesday when I get it cleaned up.
