Bike Check: Aaron Gwin's Intense M29 - Maribor DH World Cup 2019
@kleinblake: Every bit of knowledge gleaned from a pro's bike is practically worthless. It's all about curiosity and gear nerdiness. Why do a bike check at all if things like bar height and tire pressure are treated like proprietary tech that's still in development?

Being secretive about bar height's ridiculous. Like knowing that would give anyone an advantage lol

Santa Cruz Jackal w/ Chris King bits

$1110 USD
2009 Santa Cruz Jackal, L, with Chris King hubs and headset. This bike has been collecting dust in my house for years, and although most of the parts are old in terms of the model year, they have very little wear from use. The frame is nearly scratch free and I purchased the wheels from Fanatik Bike Shop in Bellingham in 2017 (nothing but parking lot rides since). I bought the frame from Another Bike Shop in Santa Cruz back in '09, and I've barely ridden it since (shame). The worst scratches and scrapes are on the fork crown and non-drive side crank arm, and are the result of pedal rub from another bike on a shitty bike rack on a drive up to Whistler (the fork and cranks were once on my old Santa Cruz Chameleon). This bike needs a wash, perhaps a stiffer spring in the fork, and maybe some wider bars to feel equatable with more modern builds, but it's never been jumped and the wheels are new (cost $1000 alone). PB message me if you're in the Bay Area and you're interested. Build Specs: Frame: 2009 Santa Cruz Jackal, L, SS dropouts (I have a spare dropout with a derailleur hanger if the buyer is interested in running gears) Fork: 2006 RockShox Pike 426 U-Turn coil w/ PopLoc (1-1/8 straight steerer tube, externally adjustable between 140-95mm) Headset: Chris King NoThreadSet 1-1/8 Stem: RaceFace Diabolus 30mm (25.4mm clamp) Bar: Deity 2014 50mm (25.4mm clamp) (710mm width) Grips: Sunline Logo - Thin (lock-on) (minimal wear) Collar: Santa Cruz Post: Specialized (cut) Seat: WTB Devo Team (Titanium rails) Hubs: Chris King ISO 20x110mm/SS 10x135mm bolt-on w/ Ceramic Bearings (rear only) Spokes: DT Swiss Competition Nipples: DT Swiss Pro Head Brass 12mm Rims: Stan's Flow EX, 32h Tires: Kenda Small Block Eight 2.35/2.10 (minimal tread wear) Brake: Hope Mono Mini w/ Hope 160mm rotor (rotor recently replaced) Crankset: Truvativ Holzfeller 170mm BB: Truvativ Howitzer 73mm Ring: Blackspire Mono 32t Cog: Chris King SS 13t Chain: Sram PC-7x Pedals: Azonic A-Frame Geo: HA: 68.7ยบ TT: 23.5" CS: 15.25" (slammed) BB: 12.75" Reach: 16.42" *Disclaimer I: This frame has a straight 1-1/8 head tube and will not work with tapered forks (Fox still offers their 36 831 with a 1-1/8 steerer tube but the RockShox Pike DJ is tapered only)* *Disclaimer II: This fork came with a RockShox PopLoc lockout remote that I never used and will include if the buyer is interested in looking like a two-wheeled wizard*
