Roam Fest Announces 2025 Femme MTB Festival Details
@kashimadaddy: There are plenty of women's only beginner clinics that last a weekend and are super fun. As an advanced rider, it's nice to know there is an opportunity to ride with other advanced femme/women riders. As a woman who has coached events and guided at bike festivals, I don't have any problem with this event and am glad that it exists.
It's okay to have spaces that are inclusive for people of a certain skill level. Just because you aren't invited, doesn't mean we don't think you're a valid member of the cycling community. Like you're still a valid member of the cycling community even though you're not invited because of your gender. (I'm assuming based on your name).
As an aside, Fruita has a range of trails, and I think many of the locals would be offended if they heard it's a "beginner's riding destination" rather than just a "riding destination."

Local Flavours: The Complete Guide to Riding in Crested Butte, Colorado
Our governor is amazing! If you don't like him don't visit. We aren't pissed off about living in Colorado... we are rightfully angry about our lands being destroyed by visitors...

Local Flavours: The Complete Guide to Riding in Crested Butte, Colorado
@DetroitCity: We shouldn't have to clean up after them. People should be able to be decent human beings. If they want to go outside they need to understand what it means to be a steward of the land. Every single person that wants to play outside needs to respect the land that they are on. That's the biggest issue with tourism in the west. Also we don't see any of that money for ourselves - housing prices are out of this world and the pay doesn't match the cost of living. Most locals are desperately trying to stay local.

Local Flavours: The Complete Guide to Riding in Crested Butte, Colorado
@DetroitCity: The town of CB mostly cares about profits. Not about preserving our culture, our natural resources, or it's local workforce. We are being overrun by visitors and we don't need to promote our town anymore. It has enough tourism to be word of mouth from here on out.
