Head to Head: 2026 Santa Cruz Tallboy vs. 2020 Norco Optic
@11six: the DPS is a harsh unpredictable pogo of a shock compared to the dbil. Much more controlled and smooth with very slightly worse pedalling on smooth terrain. The mara suggested above is probably another good option or dvo topaz.
The Mattoc is leagues ahead of both the grip 2 and fit 4 34. Stiffer, actual meaningful adjustments, super smooth and no weird spiking etc.
For servicing , the CCDB was a send away item for me , I never cracked it open. The mattoc is super easy to do a lowers service and change travel etc without buying a whole new air sprig . I ran it both 130 and 140 on my v4

Head to Head: 2026 Santa Cruz Tallboy vs. 2020 Norco Optic
@11six: had a v4, shock upgrade is more worth it on that bike. Throw the DPS out and go CCDB IL.
If changing forks I would 100 per cent choose a Mattoc over either the grip 2 34 or pike 3.1 and I've owned all 3.

First Ride: Manitou's Gen 2 Mezzer Fork is VERY Sensitive
@Dougal-SC: Ordered Mattoc Expert from you guys this morning.
Think I was just extremely unlucky with the first one (two).

First Ride: Manitou's Gen 2 Mezzer Fork is VERY Sensitive
@Dougal-SC: I've had two creaking CSUs on the new mattoc. I purchased the fork in Australia and the total warranty downtime has been 7+months in the 18 or so months I've owned the fork. I couldn't get a replacement the second time and am now back on a Pike 3.1 and it's just not as good as the Mattoc :(

Review: E*Thirteen's New Grappler Tire
E13 tyres have to be the worst quality I’ve come across. Even worse than maxxis. Every single one has a massive wobble in the casing, sidewalls leaks, burping etc.

Michelin Launches New Force AM2 and Wild AM2 All-Mountain Tires
Me too. I always ran that combo for trail duties and long rides and then jumped straight to the RockR2 if I wanted something heavier duty...I'm sure these are great but they kind of sit in no mans land IMO.
