@DavidGuerra: NO. Kade braked because the rider in front of him bailed and he knew he'd not make it across the massive gap once losing speed so had to stop. Lewis himself explained this on IG on the day.

You're right but I do think a decent tweak would have been to make the alternate line slightly less of a big detour but still slower - so it's more appealing to the riders less keen to send the drop.
You could see the riders launching it were faster than those rolling it but they're fighitng for space on the same line and the ramp is only on part of the drop.
If the drop was always there, with no ramp, but the chicken line was more appealing then there would be no brake-check controversy possible.
