This Post Won't Make You Smarter - Sunday Comics With Taj Mihelich

I genuinely don’t understand how these comics drew so much hate. They don’t have to be exactly inline with your particular sense of humor for you to acknowledge that they are stylistically consistent and rendered in a way that reads very easily. Just because I don’t get all knee-slappy about puns doesn’t mean I don’t get a smile out of it. How is this polarizing...are we really taking sides based on our senses of humor now?

I think, in summary, you’re saying “dogs are just animals and should be treated as such”. But we’re all animals, and part of being an animal with a social structure is altruism - one of the most successful survival strategies. That said, dogs aren’t actually the same as wolves. And even if they were, you’d find that wolves also cannot run at full sprint all the time....nor do so while hunting. The basic issue is, you’re rationalizing not taking care of dogs, and your argument could be applied to anything from keeping dogs inside, to veterinary medicine to even feeding them or giving them attention. They’re “just animals”. Our animal altruism tells us from deep down that this isn’t the right way to treat each other.
