Gates Patent Application Shows a CVT Gearbox For Non-Electric Bikes
Please compare drag to an external drivetrain that is somewhat dirty and with a chain that is under lubricated. That is the state where many drivetrains actually exist and this one needs none of that.

Crossworx Announces New Pace290 eMTB
I am no engineer, and I accept that there are aspects of bicycle design that I don't understand. I can see how these links compress the shock. What I don't understand is how it is considered a good solution. Visualizing the directions of force during compression, it seems like the loads would stress the linkage more than just being stacked through the frame structure. The angles of the linkage being what they are, it seems like force is generally not directed into the shock mount on the downtime, rather it just wants to buckle out the link. Maybe it doesn't matter because it is all within the working range of the design? Or maybe there is some design principle that I don't understand... can someone explain?

Video: Kriss Kyle is a Damn Good Dam Rider
@WhateverBikes: lol. It was a response to all the comments above which were implying that Chris should have just did this edit on a bmx. There is this ongoing narrative on how Big bmx riders just ride mtb's for money. Personally i think the real reason is mountain bikes open them up to new possibilities. Such as what is seen in this edit.

What's the point?! You people are ridiculous. These impacts are absurd and consistently smashing them on a rigid 20 inch bike is straight up abuse. Even for a light guy I wouldn't be surprised if he broke a frame filming this. It takes a lot skill to manage that kind of impact while not crumbling into the ground in a puddle of broken body.

Video: How to Build Adaptive Trails For Everyone
Adaptive trails absolutely have their place in a trail network and I welcome them. However I take issue with the sentiment that adaptive trails are fantastic trails for everyone as the specific design criteria for adaptive bikes is in direct conflict with many of the design features that core advanced riders love. Adaptive trails are excavated and per meter they are very expensive. A very small fraction of riders can both afford and use these highly specialized electric quad bikes. Locally I have observed that a disproportionate amount of money is spent on incorporating adaptive trails when a much larger piece of the pie, the hand-built black demographic, is undeserved. Which hurts because we can buy those trails for less than half the cost per meter.

First Ride: 2025 Santa Cruz Vala AL eMTB
Can PB please hire someone who genuinely loves ebikes to provide us with this content. I don't believe for a second that either Dario or Kaz would buy an ebike with their own money. The constant need to qualify that they don't "need" an ebike, and, their regular pitch on how everyone should consider an XC bike instead of ebike ownership has eroded my trust in their opinions on the subject. We want to hear from someone who is equally passionate about their use, someone who preferentially rides ebikes, and who has owned an ebike for long enough to have really learned its limits. I am tired of reading reviews from people who begrudgingly ride ebikes exclusively for the purpose of providing review content.
