Perfect head angle for this style of bike IMO. The old bike was too steep. Different flavors for different folks.

Opinion: Do We Need Size-Specific Chainstays?
Tall rider. I like short chainstays. If you make a bike with only long chainstays for my size, I'm likely not buying that bike. Give us options.
