@lloydyb: not sure what the instant gratification means, an ebike doesn't suddenly imbue the rider with riding skills...that would be down to having suspension and creating a false sense of security ;o)
Cycling in general looks very different these days, not just down to the pandemic, but technology, and Gen X being an entirely different kettle of fish to Boomers driving the market in a new direction.
Best just let it go, and you will progress through the change curve...and that's speaking as a reformed BMX trail snob :)

I was told categorically a couple of years ago they were working on a full 27.5...this was at the London Cycle Show at Alexandra Palace.
A real shame it's never appeared.
