Check Out: Flexible Flats, Alt Grips, a Geo-Adjust Saddle, & More
I do think this evo rail design looks promising, but there's one thing i guess people overlooked... there's no "flex zone". the one thing that traditional rail saddle has and all those "new standards" like I-beam, Pivotal, Tripod etc. don't. Plastic (or carbon fiber for rich roadies) flex quite a lot between front and rear rail junctions, and that's where 50% of the comfort came from, without flex zone the only way to be as comfortable is to double the padding, which adds weight and make them bulky like those BMX fat seats, and the end result is probably the same or could be more weight at the same comfort level. But i do think this is solvable with some degree of engineering like adding holes as flex area to those solid side plates, and we can all say goodbye to those bent rails after just one pedal slip, and no new standard need to be introduced, which is already a big win.

Gates Patent Application Shows a CVT Gearbox For Non-Electric Bikes
Sometime I would think "wouldn't it be great if we got gearbox instead of derailleur" but this time I think opposite.

A Brief History Of Upside-Down Forks: A Bumpy Road
one thing about the moto world where extra weight is more acceptable, i'm not that familiar with motos but some of the motocross forks are actually more flexable than a standard MTB right side up fork despite being dual crown and having a lot more weight and thicker tubes. My guessing is that in moto world they don't do much twisty and fast side by side movement stuffs, their weight won't let them even if they want to, so torsional and lateral stiffness don't mean much in their world, just my 2 cents

Pinkbike Poll: If You Could Change One Thing About Your Current Mountain Bike's Geometry, What Would It Be?
Still remember back in the days i kinda struggled manualing my freeride bike, always took a while to get used to how long the chain stay was and always exhaust me a lot more than my dirt jumper... and now people are asking for even longer chain stay and people are already on bigger wheels and longer wheelbase... Not saying that manual is a must-do trick on MTBs but are people now that much stronger than I used to be?
