Thibaut Daprela Breaks Scaphoid at Loudenvielle DH World Cup 2023
Scaphoid sucks to break, actually. High rate of non-union if it’s at all displaced and needs surgical repair from the get go depending on where the break is. Also, no thumb use until it’s healed. For a tiny bone it’s a real bugger.

Velo Digest: A One Gram Bike Lock, Cursed Courses, & The Most Underrated Racer of the Season
@owl-X: This. Had a bike get stolen years ago. Renters insurance covered replacement value. It was easy. Keep receipts and photos of your bike so you can prove what's yours. I've got pictures of my bikes in my garage. Whenever I lock my bike up somewhere, before I go inside I snap a picture of it locked up with an identifiable background. If it gets stolen, I'll gladly take moneys instead of chasing down thieves. Infinitely better system than an airtag.

Review: Chromag Darco - A Very Big Little Bike
Same thought. I had a Banshee Phantom last year, thinking a short travel ripper sounded fun. My conclusion was if I’m gonna lug around all this weight, I want more travel. Or if I have this little travel, the bike needs less weight. Switched to a 160mm bike which climbs just as well and descends better. Similarly priced Spur literally weighs almost 10lbs less than this. Cool bike idea, but the actual number of riders good enough to utilize it is pretty small

Interview: Downhill Tire Tech with Maxxis
@pakleni: this. For years I ran a DHF and DHR. Always just assumed I sucked at cornering. Got rid of that DHF and it turned out the problem wasn’t me. I’m no Connor Fearon but holy shit are corners easier with an Assegai

Staff Ride: Dario's Downieville Santa Cruz Tallboy
my unpopular opinion is that most complaints about EXO tires are because people want pressures too low. I run 28-32 psi and rarely have issues. Also minimal sidewall flex. I dislike the deader fee of heavier tires. I’ll run EXO+ in back though since I’m a plower. But lighter casings at slightly higher pressure have a better feel than heavier thicker tires and lower pressure. That’s my take. I destroyed three tires in a year trying to run sub 25 psi. Tires would burp a lot, too at those lower pressures. I find the higher pressures way better

Matt's Day 2 Randoms - Eurobike 2023
Because the 5 Spot was the original downcountry/trail/enduro bike. That a was bike you saw at XC races and in the bike parks. If it isn't in the MTB hall of fame, it should be. I had a 5 spot and a 6 pack. Those were unreal good bikes for the era. Light, strong, relatively simple, good suspension. There's a reason things DH bikes look like a session and trail bikes look like a 5Spot.

That’s because there’s sucralose as a sweetener. If you’re training hard enough to need protein supplementation, you probably should cut sucralose and other artificial sweeteners out of your diet.

Check Out: Clothing, Tools, & Cleaners
@TheR: Spent years using simple green. Always assumed I just got my bike dirtier than everyone else and that’s why cleaning was so onerous. Got a bottle of MucOff last month. After the first spray I realized I’ve been doing it wrong for years. Sooo much better
