@FrothDog: generally speaking, improving chances with a Friday Saturday Sunday finals window, and accommodating riders, support staff and diggers with a few more days on the mountain to get started beforehand, is really the only way to start mitigating risk. With Friday as a possibility from the start, in this case this year, it could've happened. Weather extremes are affecting outdoor sports globally more and more.Yeah, it's longer BLM permits and more cash Red Bull needs to provide to make an event like this have a better chance of happening. Behind all the hot takes and complaining that they cancelled it when they rightfully needed to, no one (including Todd in this interview) fleshes out the feasibility of that as an option in the future. It's a monumental effort to get it launched as is. That's why ideally Red Bull would toss a few more coins to the organizers' cause. They have more than enough to do that.
