If I remember correctly, Shimano didn't really expand their manufacturing during Covid to cope with increased demand. Smart Move.

A Closer Look at the High-Performance Steel Creations of Zoceli Bikes
I would think this is a Chromoly Blend, and is probably heat treated too, so I don't think corrosion is that much of an issue. I think most BMX bikes are Chromoly, and they seem to do ok.

@Mtbdialed: How did they "Change The Game"? If if remember correctly, their bikes were just Horst Link based bikes with geometry numbers basically the same as everyone else.

Further Reading: Tightrope Walking, a Missing Roman Emperor, & a Himalayan Mystery
Regarding the possible unknown Roman Emperor, this time period is known as the Crisis of the Third Century, and was a really bad time to be around. The Empire actually split into three. There was a "Gallic Empire" that consisted of what is now France, Spain, Parts of Belgium/Netherlands and parts of Germany. The center part consisting of Italy, the Balkans, and North Africa, and the Easter half which was Syria, Egypt, Turkey and the Levant. There were so many Emperors during this time (50, from the years from 235-284) it's hard to keep track. This Sponsian may have been a local commander who was hailed as Imperator by his troops and never made it back to contest the sitting Emperor for control.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Santa Cruz's Josh Kissner on Bike Development, Supply Chain Issues, & High Prices
Also, Santa Cruz is headquartered in one of the most expensive areas of a state that is probably the most expensive state in the US to run a business in. That can’t help either.
