Cannondale Factory Racing May Use Aero Gravel Wheels At Nové Město XCC World Cup
I was instantly reminded of the HED aero rims that were used by a few DH racers back in the day, notably the Yeti Factory Team. Like this: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/now-that-was-a-bike-yeti-lawwill-dh6.html

Moots & White Industries Release $1,350 Titanium Crankset
@suspended-flesh: My twin brother splurged on a White Industries hubset back in the mid-90's and they were cool as shit (and loud). The only WI product I ever splurged on was a trials freewheel back in my trialsin' days. And that was like $90 when I was in college (i.e. a lot!)... Excuse me while I go yell at a cloud...

Moots & White Industries Release $1,350 Titanium Crankset
@suspended-flesh: I'm firmly not in that 50% you suppose. Lifelong cyclist, 44 yo, own a house, have two kids, but sure as shit am not a millionaire. And I wouldn't buy these cranks even if I could afford them. I appreciate the challenges that go into making something like this, but NO WAY could I justify spending that much on a crankset. Being an adult, especially when owning a house and having kids, is expensive. I honestly don't understand how there's enough market out there for something like this (or the eeWings) to put in the effort to make them, but it must be there...

'I've Never Used My Brakes So Much on the Climbs' - Riding the Megamo Reason eMTB
Is this the same Megamo that used to make trials bikes back in the day? Some of them were awesome.

Intrusive Thoughts: How Much Can Modern Parts Improve My Old Bike?
It's amusing that a bike from 2021 or whenever is now "outdated". I guess that just shows how rapidly things have evolved in the past 5-10 years. Have they settled into a new groove yet? I'm still happily riding a rigid steel bike from I dunno... 2015? No doubt even hardtails have changed significantly in the past decade, but since I can't afford (or rather, justify) a new bike, I'll keep living under a rock. Ignorance is bliss I suppose. I sure would like to try a modern full suspension bike (2021 is modern enough!), so I'll raise my hand for a freebee. Plus, I'm a tall guy (6'5")...

10 Things I Loved in 2025: Seb Stott
@dhjunkie: My kids are a bit older now (6 and 10), but I'll echo this for pretty much any activity, especially outdoor stuff. Neither of my kids have taken to bikes too strongly, and that's fine. But when we do get out, it's all about having fun. I don't have expectations they're going to keep up with me, and extra snacks go a long way towards motivation through the "hard" times. Same goes for hiking, skiing, sledding, fishing, gold-panning, whatever. Kids don't want to do shit that's not fun (who does really?), so gotta lure them with fun stuff to hopefully get them hooked on the activity for its own sake.

Pinkbike Poll: Do Your Hands or Arms Hurt When You Ride?

Video: Greg Minnaar Explores his ADHD Diagnosis & How it May Have Unknowingly Shaped his Career
I've got a 9 year old son with ADHD, and it's been a game changer to get him some help and medication. Despite our worries, it definitely didn't change his personality or make him numb, it calms down his brain and allows him to focus, including on making the right decisions (and which battles to pick with his sister and us). Throughout the process, it's become clear to both my wife and I that we've almost certainly got some of the same things going on in our brains. I'm glad the stigma of neurodivergence is starting to go away. We're all fucked in the head in one way or another, no need to judge or look down on people because of it.

How Much Do Professional Mountain Bikers Get Paid in 2025? - Pinkbike’s State of the Sport
@casey-as: I do ok as a professional geologist, but definitely don't have money for a new bike every three years, and I ride a steel hardtail... but I own a house and have 2 kids and a wife (who makes as much as I do).

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Rather...?
I used to work at a deli and commute by bike. One day after a gritty/rainy ride in, my chain was squeaky and dry for the ride home. Grabbed some veg oil and lubed it up. Lasted long enough to get home. Peanut oil... probably similar results...
