Review: Pivot Shuttle LT - Adjustable Everything
@chrisclifford: fair enough. I just don’t care for pedaling. It’s why I ride the bike park more than I ride the valley trails or in Pemby. If I have to pedal I want to be fit…so I work hard on it. eeeb solves all the issues and I get plenty of challenge in the downs.

@chrisclifford: hate all you want but being strong on any bike is a good idea. There is a reason all the pros spend so much time in the gym. There is a lot of exercise science backed in strength but also zone training to gain aerobic fitness. I’ve beat it to death now, but bottom line is…get a HR monitor, sort your zones then go for your regular rides. I’d bet youre in a higher heart rate zone than you think most of the time and it’s probably not helping you achieve the goals you think it is.

@hamncheez: its called all day pace for a reason. If what you say is true and measured, means you have a high aerobic capacity - assuming you have your zones dialed in correctly - I find many people mistake zone 1 for zone 2 if they are not using a HR monitor. Some easy chat GPT work can tell you more about the science behind it. Personally a lot of my rides end up being in Zone 3 - which is largely considered 'junk miles' zone. You're not really gaining any aerobic or anaerobic fitness, not burning much fat and stuck in no mans land....but again only way to know this is if you're using a HR monitor. As I've gotten older I've gotten really into this, and working super hard to stay in zone 2 on my climbs...ignoring pace...and while I ride less given family and all this, I'm more fit / climb faster for longer, etc. The eeeeb is interesting for me as you can regulate and adjust power to stay in your desired zone (at least on the Avinox system) based on the changing grade/terrain...the added speed of climbing in zone 2 is how I think about it, not just about getting up there faster but still in zone 3/4.

@hamncheez: lol. Its kinda like COVID...if you don't test you won't know if you have it or not...yes its real, heart rate training is very well studied.

@chrisclifford: I plan to… that’s one of the major benefits as far as I’m concerned and you get to go way faster anyway

@Jtstar: it’s the classic maybe you can pedal for four hours, but you can’t even squat your body weight… Sure it’s good endurance fitness but overall I’m not quite sure that’s how I would define fitness for the average person

@chrisclifford: if the only fitness you’re doing is Biking… Or e-Biking whatever… You’re probably not in that great shape anyway
