Photo Story: Enduro Packing Through The French East in Trans Alsace
In the beginning the bikes felt like 40t lorries, this changed after a few little changes and with getting used to it. in the end we were able to ride "almost" like without the bags.
1. We repacked quiet a bit at the beginning so the bar bag became as light as possible to gain a bit quicker steering response.
2. We stiffened up the front suspension to compensate for the heavier sprung mass
3. we SOFTENED the rear suspension slightly to make it move, because it didn't do much with the big inertia of the unsprung mass (rear rack + panniers).
Next time I will put on a DH casing tire, to make full use of the 50mm of travel the tire already provides.

The packing list has already been adjusted, as I removed quiet a bit of unnecessary stuff.
Also there will be no way around a DH casing in the rear, which might take up all the saving in weight again.
In the end it's basically like every other day on the bike, you want everything to hold up and perform well in order to enjoy it. So 1 kg more or less might not change that experience that much, especially being in that weight range.

@porkchopsandwich: "while Diego Solans pulled off a backflip cliffhanger to tailwhip, both world firsts." - PB, they actually do claim it to be a world’s first. So Caverzasi shattered dreams years before he even knew about it.
