I the Giants weak spot was the RC4. I had to run w softer spring with the boost valve at 280psi and the bottom out one turn out. That shock is almost as bad as the DHX. I found the Elka, vivid and Rocco to work well on it.
The CCDB is completely different at speed on trail conditions. It is not a shock you can get to feel good in a parking lot or street test. It can be very finiky. Like my Avy Boxxer it really shines at speed

Yeah I need to figure how to dial in the CCDB, otherwise I may get an Elka, Avy or Rocco WC. Craig really knows his stuff and he is close to NY. So no real issue with turn around time.

Catamount is either NY Ma or NY VT boarder. Suposedly steep like Platty without the shale.

Yeah that frame needs a rear fender. There are two good ways to do it. Cut a THE front fender to fit with zip ties. That is what I did. For really muddy days use a neoprene fork mud flap. Check out I think pg 33 on the RideMonkey "M9 ride reviews" thread.
I have a little basic trail time on it but the Avalanche cartridge feels like an Avy fork without the weight penalty.
