 They definitely help, I think. I took up mountain bikes last spring while I was down with an injury, and having moto as a background was nice. It meant I already knew how to case things LOL.

 Haa nice. That's my problem I look at big hits on the MTB like oh that's only a first or second gear jump...probably why I get hurt so often.

 It does suck when there's no throttle to pull you out of trouble. I was pedaling toward a double the other day when a big headwind hit me just before take-off. I was committed so there was nothing to do but come up waaay short. I was fine, but I could've used some actual horsepower about then.
