 no; just a test, the real video is coming out in a couple of days. this video is just to show you this cameras capability. this is a Prototype from me so; no you can't buy it. So more of this will be happening and the quality is going to get way better. I am going to make sure of it, I am use a camera sensor that has a low bit depth right now; so this next week I will be looking for a 14 bit raw shooting camera. I need it to get the dynamic rage that i need to pull this off. the longer clip of brandon in the bowl was the first shot with it, so I did not know what i was doing and the shot is not good at all you can see it flicker and it jumps, color temp and does not have good dynamic range. the first shot. is much better, but not there still lots of light blending I don't want to see. I think the hdr should be solid on it light glowing. lol I don't know tell me if you think this is cool or tell me if you think it is dumb. This will help me make new stuff, and what to work hard on making sure i can do it for this riding year. matt

But all i'm saying is that the camera quality and texture looks sick. And that with that kind of editing you'll be able to get VOD at soome stage PROPS!

 Dark I know exactly what you're talking about but from what I know the only video camera that has a 20 f/stop range is the SPHERON-VR High Dynamic Range Video Camera, current high end film cameras only have 8. I doubt you actually got your hands on one of those.

I would ask how you were able to mimic about 20 f/stops worth range out of what seems to be from your HDR-XR500V? Then I saw "This is a Prototype from me", so I won't bother asking because you'll say it’s a secret: but hey I'm willing to listen.

And to answer your "I don't know tell me if you think this is cool or tell me if you think it is dumb". One, I don't think it's dumb, it's a whole new realm of video cinematography, if only other people really understood what is going on and understand the process of how you got that image, makes that much of a difference. Two, there has got to be a way you can use this effect without having it draw attention to itself. My example being in one of my videos I had a few trolley shots and one being really unnecessarily long, but it sure did "wow" people, apparently. I think you’ll understand what I mean by that, I don't intend it to be negitive.

 LOL I'm so dumb I just figured it out, you DID use two HDR-XR500V cams set at different exposure ranges, how you meshed both footage, is that white device you used to match the timecodes with genlock?

 If I did that I would get ghosting in the frames cus they would not match us perfectly with out a beam splitter, and yes some kind of gen lock controller, that would work you could do it, with three cameras really. shoot into one thing that is seeing the same thing each time. but exposed diff, I try that one it was to hard to shoot with more tht one camera and do action.
