Guys, you have to destroy that jump, you're asking for trouble. You've built a jump ON the road. The only way that jump could be less appropriate is if you built it on top of a forestry commission van parked in the forestry commission head quarters car park on the day of the international meeting of the "Foresters Against Mountain Biking" committee chairmen.

na its fine , there vans can still get past and its no harm to cappercaileys lol

Luke are you a retard? They don't destroy the tracks because they're in their way, they destroy them cos it's illegal to build on their land.
The muddy rut wasn't exactly in their way either, they still took that to bits, and drove big cat tracks over the 21 seconds.
They destroy the tracks cos they're liable for any injuries on their land, and they don't want to get sued. If you build something up there you need to build it somewhere they wont find it, somewhere it's hidden. Not in the middle of the f*cking road!

yeh but they mostly go on about it harming the capercailieys, and this isnt harming them, i know there mostly scared they will get sued but the thing is we only built this cause we were bored , i dont realy care if they destroy it .why do u want it destroyed , wat are the forestry going to do?? nothing.

You really don't get it do you?
It's not just the way the FC in Tain/Ross-Shire/highlands view you personally. Every time someone builds an illegal trail that's dangerous, or in the way, or that they have to pay destroy for some reason, they don't think "oh that's Luke building jumps again..." they think "f*cking mountain bikers". So when someone goes to them and suggests they build an official track they don't want to because mountain bikers are all dicks who build illegal trails. Then when someone gets hurt on an official trail they consider closing it because mountain biking is too much work, too much money and too much of a risk for them. Why should they bother? It's not making them much money (if any at all), and it limits the forestry they can use for timber - their main profits, besides all mountain bikers are dicks right they don't care what the forestry commission think...
We nearly lost Dunkeld last summer because they FC threatened to destroy it purely because they couldn't be bothered any more - it was too dangerous. Dunkeld is one of the best tracks in Scotland, and its only due to a huge amount of work from the SDA, NPS, and the mountain biking community that its still there, and even with that we lost the bottom half of one of the other DH tracks in Perthshire.

I know to you it's just one jump, but think of the bigger picture for once, just cos you don't care whether or not they destroy your jump, they DO care that they have to destroy it. For you it's just something that's come and gone, but I can guarantee they'll remember it.

"RabbyT" is spot on there guys, i had the same trouble, always ask the forestry commisin first, they usualy send a guy down for you to show where and what u wanna build ( a sort of risk assesment) as long as they know that your building stuff and they dont see it as a massive threat (injury wise) they should be fine with it, but iff you build big stuff like big gaps, road gaps, high northshore and stuff like that, they tear it down as i found out, so let them know first, its for the best

yeah but the thing is that the forestery up here are REALLY gay and they wont let us build anything atol anywhere so there is no point in even asking cause trust me weave tryed

Yeh they are a bunch of nobs here. they say we cant build anywhere, they just come up with a bunch of excuses why we cant build trails. like they said that we could build up tain hill if there wasent capercaileys but then why dont they let us build somewhere were there isnt capercaileys. You guys just don't know what they are like here. I have seen pleny of trails on forestry land that dont get destroyed and go right onto the forest road. They could easly let us build on a hill where its not goin to harm wildlife, then inspect what we build to make sure its safe an that and even put up signs to basicaly say to people that u are riding this at your own risk. And by the way rob the reason why they are not going to build an 'official track' isnt because people building illigal trails its actualy to do with people injuring themselves on the forestry commision's trails and then complaining or whatever and if its a problem of a track being dangerous then why have they destroyed the tabletop track up the hill which is just a tiny bit of single track with the smallest tabletop on it?

they are the same round here guys, but ( i might of miss understood you) iff you go building stuff like that on the vids with out them knowing about it, they are gunna think twice about lettin u or not lettin u

This is my last comment. I've moved to Canada now so i really shouldn't give a f*ck. You guys are retarded. Arawn is correct, he hasn't misunderstood.

Arawn, give up. It's a lost cause.

P.S. the forestry commission is a nation-wide company, so when the "bunch of nobs" get pissed off at you, they also get pissed off at me, and at arawn, and at that guy who comments on all the pods, and at guys in newcastle, and glasgow, and southampton.... this doesn't effect just you. Open your eyes.
