 nobody cares what you have to say you crazy tree hugging hippie. Taking the bark off a tree has absolutely no effect on its longevity. Thats why it is there, to protect its insides

 The bark actually protects the tree from diseases.

 well accually bark is like human skin for the tree, its like an organ to it as our skin is to us. if you take the bark off certain trees it never grows back, some it does but it wont matter that much any way it would barely effect it, its like getting a small cut. ( in the shape of a Smile )
