Pike problem

My Pikes sound like they're sucking in air on the rebound stroke.....ideas?

Ok have you changed the settings on the fork from where it was from the beginning? Because when you turn the Slider you change the compression. Try to turn the upper sliders and se if you can make it more smoother! If it feels very diffrent and behave diffrent you should go to a mechanic and ask if he thinks it behaves diffrent then it should!

So, I did a full rebuild (changes all the seals, oil, wipers) and it's still making the noise.

Though, when I opened the Air Spring side, there was the remains of a thin, red washer. It was broken into bits and between the air spring tube and the lowers. Not sure what it was but I bet it's the lack of it which is causing the noise.

They do feel a lot plusher now though.

Most forks do this with more rebound. My old Tora's did the same, its the oil being pulled through. You might be able to help though by giving them a service and replacing the liquids.

There should be nothing wrong with your fork mine sounds the same! Both of my forks sounds like that. But if it feels diffrent than it did before you should check it out Big Grin

Thanks for your reply. I thought there was something wrong because it didn't make that noise before. To be fair, I've been riding with them like that for quite some time, but it was starting to annoy me now.

Another thing, the fork doesn't feel as plush as it used to. There seems to be a lot of stiction at the start of the stroke, do you have this problem?

The hissing is really loud ^_^
