People don't really look at you in a embarrasing way, they just find it funny. If you make it obvious that you can actually ride properly, then you crack out a good ole' ginger whip or bar hump, people will think you are a weapon! BOOM (dont be so borring in other words)

I think the vid was serious (well, kinda serious, while having some fun). When he hucks-to-flat the second time, he lands front-tire first, which makes it smoother. The first time tho, he lands both tires equally, hence the "owwww". Pretty funny, but also true.

I can see there is a landing, you're just purposely over jumping to try to show something but you're not even doing it correctly. If you jump and scrub to land on the landing you'll be able to do the section a lot faster.
