Learning to air
Decided to try and learn 'over-coping' airs today. This was the progress after about 20 minutes. Any feedback or suggestions for improvements?

Your gettin there dude. You have to go straight up and boost. Turn your bars and thrust back into the ramp . Spot your landing and you will go there . Check this vid out. You will see how he goes up turns the bars and then looks where he wants to go. It's my man Vince . He showed me how to boost and air out. This kid is Boss!!!

Thanks man, I'll take a look at that video when I'm on the computer tomorrow. As I said, this was after about 20 minutes so I will progress slowly but surely!

I had the same issue like your having. I did not pull up on the bars and I didn't turn them or look to where I wanted to go. Mostly it was just dumb fear . In the end it was me wanting to learn tire slides and disaster 180's. Vince and Huse told me I had to boost out of the lip to get the back tire on to do either. Once I got that down. I all of the sudden noticed I could just point the bike where I wanted and it all fell into place

I agree with the dumb fear, I always have a flash of what COULD happen if it goes wrong, just before I hit the ramp which usually puts me off
Thanks for the tips though, next time I'm down I'll give them a shot and spend some time on it; I guess that's what is needed, after all practice makes perfect, hey?

What if you try airing on the roll in part, put some tape as fake "coping" then you can get more comfortable going faster/higher. once thats good take it over to the side with just coping?

The thing is, I try and land sort of sideways as to avoid catching the rear wheel, as this is the exact ramp I cut my head open on so it still scares to this day. I just need to get more comfortable and then i will start practicing with different techniques, more speed etc. etc.

Calm down guys, I have a helmet but it was at my dads. Plus I cut my head on my scooter, not my bike.

Yes, wear a helmet. Go strait towards it, pump the whole thing, don't hop before the coping, allow the front wheel to pop off followed by the rear wheel, the key is to hit the coping with the rear wheel; turn in the air, spot coping, touch front wheel down first, the rear will follow... then ride away like a boss.

Is that not personal preference at the end of the day? I have always ridden that way when I started riding a bike 8 years ago, so I feel comfortable. I have always spun left, and left corners have always been my strongest. So that's the way I feel right, it's my preference, I don't feel comfortable any other way so I'm not going to do it..
