The State Of Wharncliffe
My mates and i arrived at Warncliffe to find a lot had changed.
For the worse the whole Dh area is now peppered with litter.
These so called DH'ers who are dropping litter are dragging our sport down, giving DH'ers a bad name and ruining the flag ship DH spot in Sheffield. This litter dropping scum should be ashamed of them selves.
Some thing needs to be done about the litter in warncliffe.

Well said mate.
It seems this warncliffe-downhill guy is quick to defend but not as quick to take me up on my offer.
I will organize a litter pick through our face book group and this is sheffield, get some big local scene publicity on it and get it sorted, get the ball rolling that its not cool to drop litter.

first up please don't go calling all the wharny locals out on "our" rubbish .second we have to share the woods with horse riders,walkers,and stupid f*cking campers and yes the rubbish is a discrace but its not ours and tbh i think you made abit of a poor accusation....not cool dan

I'm sorry dude but i was horrified to see the litter. How can you say the rubbish isnt DH'ers??? when its all over the DH trails? I know it's not everyone that drops litter but it is everyones job to get it sorted.

I'm one of the Admin on The Eckington Trail Collective face book group and one of the senior members up at Eckington woods. You guys organize a litter pick then a ride up at warny and i'll turn up with all our guy's and girls to help out.

single traction and the wharncliffe riders collective has kinda vapourised, this happend after the FC didnt deliver on the promised input we were lead to believe that was to come. It was after that the track building went mental - just after the rock fest tracks such as Yo Mamma were born.
The new wave of riders - charactised by the place being nicknamed wharny - are massively talented and lads under the label of thisissheffield are a great example of new, flowing tracks.
The number of riders has exploded.
The respect for the woods by riders - in particular littering is bordering on gross. The persistent spray canning of the fasttrack is so out of order.
I would have thought launching some clean up days through ETC, rideshefield and thisissheffield as a co-ordinated approach would deliver, raise awareness and get the place cleaned up. I don't know anyone other than the ETC lads, does anyone else?

sorry about me not replying i havet been at my computer for a while , i sounds good but i don't think anyone will turn up ...because..well..look out your window , i'd definatly like to do it and we do have a few unwaned guest alot of nights i mean come on..who the f*ck drinks white lighting apart from chavs and winos ..and i'm with you its not cool to drop litter but its also not cool to point the finger ...kudos on the dirt mention guys

There's 30 people going to be there picking litter up on the 7th of Jan 2012 weather it's raining, snowing or what because they love the sport and they love Wharncliffe.

So i'll point the finger at who i like because i'm the mug that's just organized the DH trail's clean up, in fact i bet you've done your fair share of littering in those woods, going on you can't be arsed attitude.

i ride wharncliffe alot an it is getting bad, people destroying jumps an wrecking trails as well as all litter. the place needs some t.l.c!

look mate, I've ridden Dh in wharncliffe for a decade, the rubbish is, was and always will be in the main concentrated in the *session* spots for the bike riders... I've moved dozens of bags of rubbish out of there, and will continue to do so. Bike riders are as a user group very easy to target and easy to blame - and often TBH rightly so... If you represent a group of riders in these woods I, and many others, would greatly value you askin people to take their shit home.
