Nice Work.... I was able to watch all 25 mins of it which is something compared to most vids that I get bored of in 3 mins.. I was kinda bumbed about the soundtrack though.. Sum 41, Citizen cope and Sweatshop? Not exactly the unused or unheard music I would like in a Production such as this..

At least the music went with the video. It's the worst when somebody tries to get original with original music and completely fails. These songs are not completely mainstream either, I enjoyed them. Good job, awesome video!

Dont get me wrong.. They totally went with the video..
Just if you work on a video for over a year, You should have time to find some artists that hasnt been used in a big production (The Collective used both Citizen Cope and Sweatshop Union) and a song that hasnt been used on National TV ( Citizen Cope) and Sum 41 is another band that has been a house name for years.. I am not saying it didnt go well. I thought it went very well, Just that some different music would have added to the over all experience to me..

to bikerguy222 This is Gavin, One of the editors... Thank you, we were settled on several total underground artists for several of the sections but we found out the song's didn't fit well and making it work would have been challenging. Yes, I think for the next video we will definitely look into different songs and try and surprise with something totally off the charts.

Thats a good decision. I have done that in my videos as well. I have edited full videos then decided to change the song and re edit the whole thing. Song choice is everything

Exactly.. Which is why I was shocked to see relatively "popular" music in the video.. kinda kills the whole "local" feel.. I wanted to see the song from the Trailer used.. it was super chill, I had never herd of it and it gave a good down to earth local feel to the edit..

But he's saying those "local" feeling songs didn't go with the riding as much as the song choice he picked. You would rather have a choppy, not flowy video with more "local" songs than a smooth video with more "mainstream" songs?

My opinion is that it's all good until you use a song that has been already used in a popular movie (like The Collective NWD or Barred For Life etc.). So what if there is song from a band who's some other song has been used already. I think that the songs in this movie are all "unique", except the Swollen Members - Grind (it's in Barred For Life), but that's no big deal! Smile

Oh yes, and these songs are absolutely not "mainstream" nor popular, I mean, they were 5 years ago, and this kind of music is not used any more so frequently. Smile

Absolutely amazing! Loved every minute of it, especially the first and the last section! The riders, the trails, the cinematography... everything matches into a great movie! Keep up the good work! Smile

Nice work guys! I recognize Chad and Ryan from their Ashland visits... Just curious though, is the jump trail "locals only" and hidden? Or is anyone able to check it out?
  • + 2
The jump trail was filmed on Fred's property

fred-01.pinkbike.com

Him and his friends have been building it up over the years. It has progressed along with their skill.

If your talking about the second half of chad's section, that trail is open and is always maintained up on the local trails.
