thanks buddy! yeah man, honestly, it was great to do. I do think all mountain bikers should do it.
obviously people would prefer to carry up light xc bikes, and use dh bikes to come down, but really, dh bike is too much unless you really want to pin it down like a nutter. thing is, you cant on your first go as theres so many corners and harsh rocks to remember any lines. yes it is a trail, but there are rock gaps perfect for your front wheel, and jagged rocks all around in some sections. you wont find features like that in trail centres and even alpine trails. this is a natural walkers trail, nothing has been made for bikes to go over. personally, i loved using the dh bike for this, but i liked the chalenge of carrying it up.
people do it on hardtails fine, but really, i'd recomend 4-6inch full sussers for most people.
imost people walk up Llanberis path, then come down the Rangers trail. if you do this, you will need to pedal round a bit to get back to you car. if you take DH rigs, park at the foot of the rangers trail, push up the rangers (so you know what to expect coming down), then come straight back down it, back to your car. the route is just under 4 miles up.
as you saw in the vid, start super early to get the most time on the hill, and you wont have to rush it at all. also, there are loads of walkers kicking around.
i set off at 6am, 2+hrs going up, hung around at the top a lot, got back to car by 10.
let me know if you want any more advice
CHEERS!

great thanks!
i think you cant be on the hill with a bike during the day from some time in april through to october.
yeah would be great to hook up for a ride! cheers!
if you want a full adventure, do ben nevis, i did it last year. park at the north face car park, ride up to the rescue hut under ben nevid, then hug it round to join the tourist route. come back down the same way. the begining of the tourist route is impossible
again, very busy, so get on the hill super early
i have a video somewhere, i'll post a link

This is on my do list in the next couple of weeks. When was this filmed?? It looked epic at the top well worth the push up.

Quality vid and quality riding btw
