k dont back pedal cuz if the cable tension isnt adjusted right it wont back pedal .put the bike upside down and pedal it normally start in 9th and shift to 8th if it lags or doesnt go into 8th tighten the cable with the adjuster on the sifter.and also adjust ur limiter screws so the chain doesnt fall off in 1st and 9th

OK for starters pedalling backwards won;t solve this. YOu need to put it in a stand. Is the chain new? Is the derailleur limits set properly? Let's start with that. PM me your replies.

First, STOP SAYING DONT PEDAL BACKWARDS AND SHIFT!. We know it. Second, look for a stiff link in your chain, and then, if you have any magik-link, or whatever you call it, replace the stiff link by those. The last thing you should check, is if your derailleur comes in contact with the cassette. BUT really LOOK and touch the chain for stiff link. Mine did this to, and I found the stiff link...

ok i got your answer coz i have the same bike with the same single ring set-up as yours. first of all, single ring setups only aligns perfectly to your middle rear gears( maybe the 3 gears thats closest to center or your rear cog because proper gear allingment is key for smoth opertation, and yes even if you try to "pedal backwards". second and is also impostant is to check to see if your rear freehub body is either too tight or stuck and damaged. i sent my brand new 150x12 mm rear hub to my local bike shop and they did say it was a little to tight coz its brand new so they fixed that. ya thats basically all you need to check man i guarantee itll fix that or at least make it better. good luck

first off.dont pedal backwards and shift. i had that happend to my bikie. i had chain lag but i dont think thats what your getting. if you just resently got a new chain you should probably look in to a new cassete

yah first off dont pedal backwords and shift but to fix it try to tighten your shift cable. also if you have a barrel adjuster just turn it a little the way you need the chaiun to move for it not to skip.

For all the people who are saying this, im not shifting. Im only pedaling backwards. It does that without shifting.
