Thanks man! As for the lens, put it this way...if I had to buy one lens and one lens only, it would be the 50mm f/1.4 (ok, maybe the f/1.2). The 1.8 is good, but the quality (picture and build) isn't quite as good as the 1.4, which is fairly close to the 1.2, so bang for buck, the 1.4's the one to go for. It was my first lens and will be with me forever!
How do you get on with the 50mm f1.4? I was thinking of getting one for my 550d, but f1.8.
