You should have just said you were filming for Red Bull... si-paton.pinkbike.com/blog/Redbull-Gives-Emilie-Siegenthaler-Wings.html

from another site
Go Pro, Contour, Drift and others are putting a huge amount of money into extreme sports and sponsor many top riders. Having their equipment used and the resulting videos posted up around the internet will promote our sport and bring more money into it. We're supposed to be attracting companies from outside the industry.
If we're banning non essential items from helmets, are we also going to ban Monster Stickers, and peaks?
Its a UCI rule brought into protect the TV rights and I'm guessing the intention is to eventually have all the riders wearing them and then stream the footage or something so we can see whats going on.
I can give you loads of reasons why it should be allowed and why its good for our sport.
Can you give us one reason why they have been banned from UK BC sanctioned timed runs, and just copying the UCI rules isn't relevant / good enough reason, because there are loads of UCI rules the BC don't follow. So why decide to implement this one?
Can we also ask who the rider reps were at this meeting, and what sort of consultation you all did with the riders / companies involved with this sport before this decision was taken.
There seems to be no positives that could possibly result from this silly short sited decision and only negatives for the progression and promotion of our sport.
