Painting my bike
I painted my bike last week and filmed the process, I thought it would be cool to put a little clip together.
It's nothing too crazy, I didn't spend to much time editing but the end result is still pretty cool.
And the bike looks sick now!!!

If its alluminium it wont rust, but it's always good to put a protective layer of clearcoat on it. It will look better and wont stain when dirty.
@Rippin: Clearcoats have oxygen in it, unlike paint, so if layed on steel without paint it will rust anyways. Much slower than without clear but will still rust.
Last time I checked some automotive paint companies were working on clearcoats that will prevent rusting but not sure where they are in the progress.
Other more complicated options are available though, like Epoxy resin.

Not sure what problems you are running into, I simply loosened the bolt and pulled the wheel out...
Don't know what the problem could be on your bike, maybe you have a Thru Axle, then you will have to remove the axle competely like you do on your fork.
Figure this out before you take your bike for a ride, it will be a nightmare if you get a flat rear tire!!!

It's a Polyurethane Enamel made by House Of Kolor,
its fairly complicated if you are not familiar with automotive paint because it requires reducers and catalysts set with the right room temp because the clear coat is integrated into the paint.
The result in an extremely durable paint.
With that beign said, color is Kosmic Red (UFB06), i felt that it was too bright so I added 1/8 BC25 (Basecoat Black) and a few drops of KK blue (Kandy Koncentrate)
I am sorry I may have got you all confused but after reading a bit about these paints you will know all about it. They have a good website; houseofkolor.com
Oh and the matte black is from Kustom Kolors i believe. Also needs a Catalyst.

Any guns will do, but the bigger it is the most overspray you get and the more paint you waste.
I use a mini gun, it's an Iwata LPH50 (see link below)
It's a very good gun for this type of application and for doing helmets or smaller parts. But painting a entire car with this will take you about a year!!
Good luck and post pictures when you are done!

Just a little question, i'm thinking in putting my frame in 'works' but i can't find any info. anywhere. Do you know how to do it? or am i just suposed to take the paint off and it's done?
